The primary mission of the IPRT Facilities Engineering and Safety Group (IPRT FE&S) is to provide technical support and oversight for facilities engineering projects and facility's management and to provide environmental health and safety support, technical expertise and safety training for all non-Ames Lab-IPRT facilities and employees. IPRT F.E.&S. supports IPRT research endeavors by providing services that allow researchers to focus on research rather than operational issues. The IPRT FE&S group serves as a resource to coordinate activity and provide expertise to reduce construction and remodeling cost and to provide expert advice and training in safety related areas.
In support of our mission, we are commited to:
maintaining technical expertise in facilities engineering and management and environmental health and safety
providing programs and services in the most cost effective manner
providing a safe work environment for IPRT employees and the general public
encouraging employee participation and involvement in safety related issues
providing effective safety training that meets or exceeds federal and state regulations
providing safe and efficient transportation between the Applied Science Complex and central campus during normal business hours
assuring that construction and remodeling designs resolve program needs and requirements and are completed on time and within realistic budget requirements
