Company AssistanceStartup AssistanceThe Institute for Physical Research and Technology is a critical resource for growing tech-based companies in the state of Iowa. IPRT has worked with more than 40 of the 60 plus startups that have formed from ISU technologies since 1984. Research from IPRT's world-class centers is often the basis of the startups' product lines, and IPRT's research and development funding frequently is cited by start-up companies as a key to speeding the movement of technologies from the research bench to the marketplace. For start-up and early stage companies, IPRT can help assess technology, identify new products and market penetration strategies, and engage industrial partners for collaborative research and technology transfer. IPRT's technical assistance services are also ideal to help entrepreneurs find quick solutions to critical problems. IPRT works closely with other Iowa State University and State of Iowa organizations to identify and assist Iowa entrepreneurs. IPRT manages a program called Technology Commercialization Assistance (TCA) to assist entrepreneurs and early stage companies commercialize new technology-based products. Startup ExperienceIPRT has spun off and assisted directly in the development of dozens of new high-tech business ventures, including start-up companies and extensions of existing companies.
