Lisa Brasche received a bachelor of science degree in materials science and engineering from North Carolina State University in 1984 and a master's degree in metallurgy from Iowa State University in 1987. Brasche became interim director of IPRT's Airworthiness Assurance Center of Excellence in the fall of 1999, and she also has served as the Program Manager for the Center for Aviation Systems Reliability since its inception in 1990.
Research Interests
Brasche has worked in the field of nondestructive evaluation for nearly twenty years at the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation. Her emphasis is on the transfer of university research results to industry. Brasche’s work with the aviation industry to understand their needs and incorporate those needs into inspection research and implement program results is well recognized by the commercial and military aviation industry. Brasche also participates in several national groups including the ASNT Aerospace Committee and the ASNT Research Council where she serves as Chair.
Awards & Recognitions
Brasche was the recipient of the 2004 Air Transport Association/FAA “Better Way” award along with a team of industry partners which she led in fluorescent penetrant inspection studies.
