From Des Moines (south)
- North on Interstate 35 to Ames
- Take Exit 113 for 13th St.
- Turn left (west) on 13th Street to Stange Rd.
- Turn right (south) on Stange Rd. to Pammel Dr.
- Turn right (west) on Pammel Dr. to Morrill Rd.
- Turn right (north) into TASF parking lot (at sign for Ames Laboratory)
From Des Moines International Airport (south)
- Out of airport, turn right (south) on Fleur Dr./SW Fleur Dr.
- Take ramp onto IA-5 South
- Continue on US-65 North
- Take Exit 84 to merge onto I-80 W toward Council Bluffs
- Take exit 137B to merge onto I-35 N toward Minneapoli
- Head north on I-35 to second Ames exit, Exit 113
- Turn left (west) on 13th Street to Stange Rd.
- Turn right (south) on Stange Rd. to Pammel Dr.
- Turn right (west) on Pammel Dr. to Morrill Rd.
- Turn right (north) into TASF parking lot (at sign for Ames Laboratory)
Note: This route goes around Des Moines to the east. It is longer than going through downtown Des Moines, but since the interstate system in Des Moines is under construction, this route is surer and has less traffic.
From Davenport (east)
- Head west on I-80 to Des Moines to I-35 North
- Head north on I-35 to second Ames exit, Exit 113
- Turn left (west) on 13th Street to Stange Rd.
- Turn right (south) on Stange Rd. to Pammel Dr.
- Turn right (west) on Pammel Dr. to Morrill Rd.
- Turn right (north) into TASF parking lot (at sign for Ames Laboratory)
From Omaha (west)
- Head east on I-80 to Des Moines to I-35 North
- Head north on I-35 to second Ames exit, Exit 113
