IPRT Works for Iowa

IPRT Logos and Graphics

The official IPRT logo is based on Iowa State University standards: "Iowa State University" with "Institute for Physical Research and Technology" underneath. This logo can be scaled but should not be modified in any other way

Iowa State also has strict standards for color usage. The logos here are all in black. They are also all left justified, but they can also be centered or right-justified. Please contact us if you need any of these versions.

If you need only ISU nameplates, please go to ISU Printing Services Web site. Note that Iowa State athletic marks should never be used outside of the athletics department.

IPRT Works for Iowa Graphic

IPRT Works for Iowa LogoOur secondary mark is the "IPRT works for Iowa" graphic, serving to support our "IPRT Works for Iowa" brand. This image should as a supplementary graphic to the official logo and never used alone.

  • For TIFF and EPS files, click on the link and save to your local machine.

Formats

The logos are available in several formats:

JPEG files can be used in Web pages as well as Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. They will appear jagged if enlarged too much. The graphics on this page have a white background.

PNG files can also can be used in Web pages as well as Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. The advantage over JPG is that these have a transparent background and thus look better on a color background. Like JPGs, however, these images will appear jagged if enlarged too much.

TIFF files are most often used when the image will be printed, especially when using traditional printing methods.

EPS files are vector graphics created in Adobe Illustrator and saved with a TIFF preview so they will display properly when used in a word processing software such as Microsoft Word or a pagination software such as InDesign. Because of the TIFF preview, the logo will display with a white box behind it if placed over a screened background in these programs, but will print on a Postscript laser printer without the white box. If you use a Macintosh and wish to remove the white box, you can open the logo in a program like Adobe Illustrator and resave it. Vector graphics such as EPS files can be enlarged and still appear smooth.
