Technology Outreach 2000 Set for June 22-23, 2000
AMES, Iowa -- Iowa industry leaders will attend Technology Outreach 2000, scheduled for June 22-23 at Iowa State University. Engineers, manufacturers and technology providers will learn how to access ISU technologies and outreach services as well as hear case studies from businesses ISU has assisted. The conference will also showcase C6, ISU's newest technology tool. The C6 virtual reality environment surrounds users on all sides with 3-D imagery and sound.
Robert J. Tibor, the state's technology advisor, will give the keynote address. He will discuss statewide efforts to develop businesses in areas such as biotechnology, value-added agriculture, advanced manufacturing and information technology.
The conference will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22 at Howe Hall on the ISU campus. The following morning from 9 a.m. to noon, interested participants will be able to tour selected ISU research facilities.
The event is hosted by the Institute for Physical Research and Technology, the College of Engineering, the Center for Industrial Research and Service, and University Extension.
